Established in 1984East Bay Pediatrics as it is today began in 1977 by founding physician William Rhea, MD, FAAP. Throughout the past 40 years, the practice has strived to provide the best pediatric care in a safe environment for our patients. We believe that good communication is key between pediatrician, patient, and parent. As your physicians, we have a professional obligation to treat our patients to the best of our medical knowledge. You, in turn, can help us by asking us about problems or questions you might have and cooperating with our office policies.

Certified PediatriciansAs a patient of the practice, you and your child will have access to a physician or associated registered nurse at all times. Although each of our physicians has a different style, our medical knowledge base is similar: we are all Board Certified Pediatricians and members of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) - several of us are leaders in the AAP. We have also been in various leadership positions both at Alta Bates Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Being individuals, we do have minor variations in our evaluations and thinking, but we are all dedicated to the most effective and practical solutions to your child's physical and mental health.

All Are WelcomeEast Bay Pediatrics welcomes all types of patients and families. As pediatricians and members of the AAP, we respect all different types of families and cultures. A patient’s health and well being should not be hindered by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or family structure type. Pediatricians must support our patients and parents who face struggles based on these differences; children and their parents must feel safe in confiding in their pediatrician.
