Information
  • It is recommended that all children 6 months and older be vaccinated against influenza every year as soon as vaccine is available and throughout the influenza season. East Bay Pediatrics is offering the Trivalent Influenza (Flu) vaccine again this year. It protects against 3 strains of Flu virus.
  • For more information about influenza see healthychildren.org
  • Flu vaccine information sheets are downloadable and printable for injectable Flu Vaccine. For more information about flu vaccines, see the CDC website or healthychildren.org. The American Academy of Pediatrics also published a statement regarding flu vaccine in August 2025.
  • Children under the age of 8 years old will need to receive two doses of flu vaccine at least one month apart if they have not received 2 doses of flu vaccine in the past.
  • East Bay Pediatrics will only carry injectable flu vaccine in single dose vials (thimerisol free) this year.
Getting the
Vaccine
  • Patients with upcoming visits can get the flu vaccine during their scheduled visit.
  • Click on the links on this page to sign up for an appointment for Flu vaccine. Appointments are available most Saturdays after Labor Day and some weekdays.
  • Some families may choose to get a flu vaccine at a local pharmacy. If you choose to do so, please forward documentation of the flu vaccine to us through the patient portal. This way we can keep your vaccine record up to date.
PARENT FLU VACCINES   New for 2025-26 flu season!
  • In September parents may opt to receive their flu vaccines during their child's visit.
  • Each parent will need to register and submit a copy of his/her insurance card.
  • East Bay Pediatrics will bill the parent insurance for the flu vaccine and its administration fee. If insurance denies payment, East Bay Pediatrics will charge the card on file $65.
  • Each parent will be expected to complete the parent flu questionnaire while in the office. One form per parent.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about flu vaccine
  • Who should get the flu vaccine? All children ages 6 months and older should get flu vaccine.
  • When should my child get the flu vaccine? It is ideal to get the flu vaccine before flu season starts. A good rule of thumb is to be vaccinated before Halloween (end of October)
  • What type of flu vaccine is offered at East Bay Pediatrics? East Bay Pediatrics carries single dose vials (thimerisol free) flu vaccine injections. We do not carry Flumist (nasal spray).
